Open Road: Illinois was created for drivers who crave more than a scenic drive. It is a luxury driving experience designed to immerse you in the thrill of Northern Illinois and Wisconsin's most breathtaking backroads from the driver’s seat of your own car.

Every route is meticulously scouted to deliver the perfect balance of exhilarating driving roads and unforgettable scenery, while each thoughtfully chosen stop invites you to pause, take in the landscape, and capture the moment through curated photo opportunities and activities.

Driver registration is $4,000, with a passenger add-on for $800.

3-Day Itinerary

Day 1 — Arrival, Induction & First Drive

Registration & Welcome Brunch | Autobahn Country Club
Guests arrive at Autobahn Country Club for private check-in, a welcome brunch, and an opening briefing before the group departs for the first leg of the rally.

Departure | IL-64 West
The route heads west on IL-64, bypassing the interstate in favor of a more open and deliberate drive through northern Illinois farmland. Long sight lines, lighter traffic, and a changing landscape set the tone for the day.

Lunch
Lunch is scheduled along the route, offering a well-timed stop before the drive continues toward the river towns and bluffs farther west.

Black Hawk Overlook | Oregon, IL
A stop in Oregon, Illinois, brings the group to one of the area’s best-known overlooks above the Rock River. It is a brief but worthwhile pause with a strong view across the surrounding landscape.

Hotel Arrival | Eagle Ridge
By late afternoon, guests arrive at the hotel with time to check in, reset, and refresh before the evening’s activities.

Welcome Dinner | Woodlands Restaurant
The evening begins with a private dinner, bringing the group together for the first formal dinner of the experience.

Day 2 — The Open Road, Perfected

Departure | Galena
The day begins with a morning departure from Galena as the route crosses into Wisconsin and moves deeper into the Driftless Region, known for its steep, rugged terrain, deep river valleys, and forested ridges.

Balltown Overlook
A stop at Balltown Overlook gives the group a clear vantage point above the Mississippi River before continuing along the day’s route.

Great River Road & WI-133
From there, the drive follows the river corridor through bluff country and small river towns, continuing along one of the most distinctive road networks in the Upper Midwest.

Lunch
Lunch is scheduled at a planned stop along the route before the afternoon drive resumes.

Afternoon | Driftless Continuation
The afternoon route continues through the Driftless, covering a more technical stretch of the region before the group returns south.

Return to Hotel | Eagle Ridge
Guests return in the evening to reset before dinner.

Dinner | Timmermans Supper Club
Dinner is scheduled for the evening to close out the day’s drive.

Day 3 — Track Day Finale & Sendoff

The River Drive | Highway 84 South
The final morning begins on Highway 84, following the Great River Road south with the Mississippi River on one side and the bluffs on the other. It is a composed final road section before returning to the track.

Farewell Paddock Lunch | Autobahn Country Club
Back at Autobahn Country Club, the group gathers for a private catered lunch and a final opportunity to reflect on the experience.

Track Sessions | Autobahn Country Club
The rally concludes with two dedicated track sessions at Autobahn Country Club, shifting the experience from open-road driving to a racetrack environment for the final chapter of the trip.

What is Open Road?

Open Road is a 3- or 4-day supercar expedition that combines breathtaking open-road driving through America's most iconic routes with an adrenaline-fueled track day at world-class circuits. Think of it as the ultimate driving vacation — curated routes, luxury accommodations, incredible meals, and the chance to push supercars to their limits on both road and track.

What does each day look like?

Each day of the expedition is different, depending on the tour. On road days, you'll follow a curated scenic route with planned stops, photo ops, and group meals. On track day, you'll get behind the wheel of supercars at your designated track day with professional instruction. Evenings are spent at handpicked hotels with group dinners and time to relax. We provide a detailed itinerary, route maps, and two-way radios so you always know what's happening next.

What are the locations?

We currently offer expeditions through some of the best driving roads in the country, including:

Where does each expedition start and end?

Start and end points vary by route. You can find exact meeting locations, routes, and timing details on the event-specific page. Most expeditions are designed as a loop or with convenient start/end cities so travel planning is easy.

How many people are on each rally?

We keep our groups intimate to maintain an exclusive, high-quality experience. Each rally accommodates approximately 12 cars, so you'll be part of a small convoy. It's social enough to make great memories and meet more people, but small enough to feel VIP.

How much actual driving is there each day?

On road days, expect roughly 3-4 hours of driving through carefully selected routes. On track days, you'll have 6-8 laps.

Is there free time, or is everything on a strict schedule?

We build in downtime each evening and between activities. While the driving portions follow a group schedule (rally-style, with route maps and timing), you'll have time to relax at the hotels, explore the area, or just kick back with fellow enthusiasts. It's structured enough to be seamless and flexible enough to be fun.

How is this different than the previous Open Road experience?

Our previous Open Road program took enthusiasts on one-day expeditions that ranged from 1 to 8 hours of driving to enjoy the essence of the supercar lifestyle, discover breathtaking scenic views and share a bucket-list experience with a passenger.

This expanded expedition takes everything that made the original unforgettable and elevates it with days of breathtaking driving routes, a dedicated track day at professional circuits, upgraded accommodations, and a more immersive multi-day journey.
